I am directed by Sir Henry Pottinger to
acknowledge the receipt of your
letter of yesterday to A.E. address.
Whenever you wish to dispose of any of
your property on this island with a view to
arranging with your creditors, the restrictions which it has been A. E.
very unpleasant duty to impose, will be removed, as the only
object of these is to see justice done and to Enforce the necessary degree of good order.
His Excellency also desires me to say that it was with much regret he formed and
had expressed the opinions he did, and that whenever you
are able to disprove those
opinions
